In general, it has been a pleasing month for both the SEO and Google Ads campaign this May. There has been a notable 24.7% increase in overall website traffic, the trend of which has stabilised throughout the month. This can be interpreted as an indication of a strong and thriving SEO presence on Google. Interestingly, despite the increase in the overall and organic traffic, there is still a minimal decline in the number of users brought in by the CPC channel. The average SEO ranking has also slightly gone down. However, the targeted keywords are performing strongly as they secure positions that are higher than the previous months’. We see this level of growth as well in the Google Ads campaign, evident in the 5.8% increase in CTR and significant 31.6% increase in conversion rate. 6 conversions have been recorded, a solid 20% jump from last month as well. Nevertheless, there has been a slight increase in cost per click which affected the number of traffic brought in by the ads. Our proposed solution is to optimise existing ads to provide more quality impressions and in turn traffic.

  • In May, we performed on-page optimisations with a focus on the keyword ‘dentist Lane Cove’ and we observed a modest improvement from 29th to 26th position (third page). We expect more movements in the rankings for this keyword in the coming weeks. Once this keyword makes its way closer to the first page of Google’s search results, we would expect to see a significant increase in website traffic due to the number of searches for this keyword on a monthly basis.

  • May has been a success for the Google Ads campaign yet again as we’ve successfully increased the campaign’s conversion rate by 31.6% and overall conversions by 20%. We were also able to lower down the conversion rate by 21.2% which is pleasing to see.
  • However, we have also noted that the overall traffic has dropped due to the increase in cost per click.
  • With that being said, our plan for the coming month is to ensure we are controlling some of those more expensive keywords and optimising the non-performing ads.
