The month of May presented challenges for the Google Ads campaign. Despite receiving 331 clicks, the conversion rate remained at 6.28% due to a significant number of clicks from users searching for competitor brands. To address this issue, the team implemented an optimisation strategy by including irrelevant and competitor search term variations in the negative keywords list. Additionally, they initiated the Google Advertiser verification process to gain access to additional ad assets that would enhance the performance of the ads. Looking ahead to June, the focus will continue to be on refining the negative keywords list to exclude irrelevant and low-intent searches while also completing the Advertiser Verification process to maximise the campaign’s effectiveness.
In May, the SEO efforts yielded positive results with 39 keywords ranking in the top three positions and an additional 33 keywords ranking in the top four to ten positions on the first page of search results. Notably, keywords such as ‘holiday car rental Nambour,’ ‘cheap car hire Sunshine Coast,’ ‘family car rentals Nambour Railway Station,’ and ‘family car rentals Sunshine Coast’ achieved first-page rankings. Furthermore, the keyword ‘bargain car rental Sunshine Coast’ improved its position from 5th to 2nd on the first page compared to the previous month. On-page optimisation was focused on enhancing the ranking of the keyword ‘rent a car Sunshine Coast,’ with expectations of further improvement in the upcoming weeks.
