Southern Excavations – October 2020 Monthly Report
Manager
Despite a few wins, the results produced for the month of October indicates a concerning need to strengthen our SEO campaign. First and foremost, there has been another decrease in overall website traffic this month. Although it only amounted to a 2.5% drop in users, the decline in the number of organic users is massive. Unlike the previous month, our organic (SEO) channel was not able to bring in the majority of our site traffic. We are particularly concerned with our site performance as we plot a downward trend in our campaign from the past few months. On the other hand, our keywords have been performing consistently this October which could show potential for the upcoming months. Our average keyword ranking remains the same and we were able to push keyword ‘bobcat hire byron bay’ into the top 1 position of Google. This allows us to finish the month with all of our targeted keywords on the first page of search results, 2 of which are found in the top 1 ranking. We will be shifting our campaign to an off-page strategy through November in order to recover the dips in website traffic through improved rankings.

We are thrilled to report highly positive results for the month of August. We were able to recover the overall website traffic from a 28.4% dip the previous month with a significant 49.2% increase this month. We are also pleased to see that our organic (SEO) channel remains to be responsible for bringing in a large percentage of the website users. The keyword rankings are performing consistently well with an increase in the number of keywords ranking in the top 3 positions. It is fantastic to see our focus keywords are secured on the first page of Google, with a massive win for keyword ‘excavation byron bay’ moving up from the 4th position to the top #1 position! We aim to continue this level of growth by boosting keyword ‘bobcat hire lismore’ to the top 1 position as well by utilising on-page optimisations for the coming month of September.
